Darts has long been a bone of contention in the debate around what constitutes a sport, with some seeing it as the ultimate pub game. It was officially recognised by Sport England in 2005. When in 2010 Phil Taylor, the 16 times world darts champion, was awarded second place in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards, it was lauded in darting circles as a watershed moment in the game's battle for acceptance in the mainstream sporting environment.

In Coronation Street last night one of the factory girls said darts wasn't a sport. How very dare she!

Don, characters on television say things like to shock the audience and keep the audience tuning in. Given that you are talking about this subject the next day, it sounds like the character hit a bulls-eye.

All gone a bit quiet with the darts quotes in Corrie. Although Kev and Tyrone had a game in the Rovers the other night. Think Kev might have just edged it.

The odd cig might have had a mellowing influence on Lance "Percival" Armstrong.

I'm no 'Tour de France' expert but it seems that the best way to win, is to wear a yellow jersey.
