If it makes Simp feel any better, it is 2019 and I still don't have a smartphone. I am not anti-technology--I am anti-alltheassholesihavetodealwithonadailybasis.

While I do have a smartphone (my third this year incidentally, owing to a couple of unfortunate incidents involving tractors), I still don't have a satnav attached to my dashboard. Or a "Siri". Or much technology in my pickup at all for that matter.

I still don't have a cell phone, stupid, smart or any variety. You may read this as "I am an old crank," but I see it as reclaiming space in my life. It is a form of privilege, as many do not have the option to thumb their nose at technological assimilation, or I may just be an old crank.

My old phone is struggling to recharge, so I have a feeling I will get a new phone soon. Gasp--I might finally get a smartphone.

They shouldn't be called Smart Phones, they should be called Sneaky Freaking Spies. TVs are Large Sneaky Freaking Spies.
Siri, I hate that bizzotch. One of the first things I do when there is an OS update is make sure everything I want off is still turned off. I cussed at Siri a lot until I figured out what I need to do immediately after updates.

I was wondering about my problems recharging and googled "phone cord loose" or something like that. lint. It's probably lint. I spend some time with my phone and a plastic toothpick (wood would work but stay away from the paperclips). I got a lot out. Might have done the trick. I haven't tried with the worst cord I have though. Some cords and chargers have worked better for me.

A bit of both. It can take a long time to charge. Most of the time the thing works fine, but about once a month or so the battery will drain really quickly. The thing is pretty old (I think this is the longest I've had one phone), so it is probably about time to get a new one.

Don't you guys have that compressed air in a can stuff with the straw-like thingie that lets you shoot puffs of air at just the right areas to clean and not harm them? That's what my son and ex husband use for this kind of job. I think they get the gonzo multi-pak at CostCo. This is what mine looks like (just one.)

No--we used to have them at work, but we don't get them as much anymore as we got rid of our old computer/cash registers where we used compressed air to clean between the keys on keyboard. It is fun using the stuff and causing the can to turn cold in the process, or maybe I am just easily amused.

My old phone is struggling to recharge, so I have a feeling I will get a new phone soon. Gasp--I might finally get a smartphone. And, no, I still went with a cheap flip phone. I figure I will get a smartphone right around the time every else has received the IPhone that is implanted into one's brain, a slight improvement over the version implanted into one's rectum.

Funny that now a Google flip phone is coming out and far from cheap. Nearly 2 grand$ US and it flips horizontal.... Why!?

My old flip phone died, and I have replaced it with a smartphone. I don't do anything with it other than call my dad, but I have finally upgraded to 2014 technology.

I sometimes miss my flip phone. For many years after 'upgrading' to a smart phone (maybe not so smart of me) I used the flip phone as my alarm clock. Just in the past couple of weeks the alarm has started to malfunction - it may or may not got off, or goes off 45 minutes or so after the set time. Maybe it's trying to tell me that I don't need an alarm clock anymore. :-)
