been listening to some of the more obscure XTC tracks this week.
Got latched onto the great song Down a peg. Kinda hard to get hold of I think it was A B side and not spooted it on any of the collections, although I may be wrong. I actually think its one of Colins best songs and has a great Bass line running through it.
Its great that now I can stil have stuff for the "first time". Its like hearing a new single

I like this one too Teinster - it was on the UK Peter Pumpkinhead CD single. This reminds me of a great lost Drums and Wires track although I know it was intended for Nonsuch.

Another of my faves is Prince of Orange. Even for XTC this is an off the wall song. That sobbing at the end too!

I rather like this track, one of the final two XTC tracks (sob)

Must admit for me Spiral and Say it are really poor and signified that it really was time to call it a day.

I have a perverse affection for "Officer Blue". There, I've said it.

Hate that one. Put me off the Fuzzies. But it's great that we all have different tastes.

Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen. Weird one by Colin! I'm not even sure if I've ever even heard that one strangely enough. Looking for Footprints is piss poor though.

It's on the Rag & Bone Buffet release, but was actually recorded in around 1980 when Colin was calling himself The Colonel for some reason.

It's on the Rag & Bone Buffet release, but was actually recorded in around 1980 when Colin was calling himself The Colonel for some reason. I was aware of it and the Colonel thing. Think I'd given up on all the 12 inch extra track stuff earlier and compilation stuff later. Felt like it was a bit too much duplication. Fuzzies too. I'm more with Colin on that. Remixes and surround sound, leave me out. Doesn't sit comfortably with me. They were my band not my product. So that side doesn't appeal. Although I do get why probably most others think differently.
